The Czech exposition at EXPO 2017 in Kazakhstan Astana welcomed a half-millionth visitor and received a bronze medal for developing the theme of the exhibition Energy of the Future

On Sunday, 10th September, at the end of EXPO 2017 in Kazakhstan Astana, our jubilee half-millionth visitor visited our exhibition. According to information provided by Jan Krs, the exhibition commissioner, the visitor was Mrs. Dina Mukuseva from Astana, who received a commemorative plaque and presents from the management of our exhibition.

Our exhibition also received from the organizers a bronze medal for the best elaboration of the theme of the exhibition, which was the motto "The energy of the Future".

The Czech stand became one of the most visited national expositions. The Minister of Industry and Trade, Jiri Havlicek, also very positively appreciated today its high level as well as the great attendance.

"I visited EXPO together with a large delegation of our businessmen at the beginning of July and in the second half of August. Therefore I can compare and I have to say that the work of our team was continuously improvin. There was a great atmosphere, people were photographed in front of our pavilion with musicians in Slovakian costumes and they were enjoying their discussions in the interactive part of our exposition. I also very much appreciate the practical effects of our participation. The fact that our Kazakh partners were monitoring our exhibits very carefully and that two of the projects they chose to implement, is the best sign that our engagement was really successful. I am glad that we managed to enforce our participation in the specialized EXPO in the Government and that the Ministry of Industry and Trade historically, for the first time, made its organization excellent", commented Minister of Industry and Trade Jiri Havlicek the preparation and course of the Czech engagement at EXPO 2017.

The professional jury selected two Czech projects to implement. The first is a revolutionary line for the treatment of ordinary municipal waste with an environmentally friendly slow thermal decomposition, during which energy is released in the form of heat as well as other secondary materials utilized in the industry. The 3D model of the PTR Power Plant project, which has already been realized in London, was presented at the exhibition. The idea of the Czech company HEDVIGA Group has attracted Kazakh experts so much that it will be implemented in this economically significant country of the Central Asian region. The second project that the Kazakhstan party has chosen to implement is the electric-powered bus with a tourist design, which was produced by company Skoda Electric with participation of UMPRUM students. The electrobus was also presented at the exhibition by a functional 3D project. The Skoda Electric electrobus offers lower operating costs and maximum environmental friendliness than conventional motor vehicles.

EXPO ASTANA 2017 has been visited by almost 4 million visitors, and during the 3 months the exhibition was attended by 40 heads of states from around the world, including the President of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, 9 top representatives of international organizations and 75 ministers and state secretaries from more than 50 countries.
